Recently I purchased the 16GB Patriot Xporter flash drive. With a great looking design and an extremely fast read time, this flash drive is a must have! What sold me on it first was the hard drive space. 16GB is unbelievable and I am actually shocked that flash drives can hold that much now. If you go on New Egg’s site, you can see the fantastic reviews the product has received!
So you may be asking yourself, “why am I talking about a flash drive?” There are so many things that are tech related and a flash drive is the least talked about gadget. Well, first off this flash drive is unique and has a better design than others I have seen. Secondly, looking back about 3 years ago, I remember when the largest size for a flash drive was 1GB. I worked at Best Buy at the time and thanks to my discount a $99 flash drive, only cost me $40. Can you believe that? $40 for a Geek Squad hard drive and now we can get more space for cheaper! It shows how technology really advances and that buying “space” is becoming cheaper.
The Patriot Xporter Flash drive is $41.99. You may think that’s a lot of money for a flash drive, but you are getting 15GB more than what I got in the past and payed the same price. Not only that, but there’s a $10 mail-in-rebate, so it will only cost $31.99. I would take advantage of that too and not be the idiot I was and forget to do it before the offer expires.
I know you can go onto New Egg and find a ton of 16GB flash drives and find one’s that have a lot more space. Although, here’s my outlook on that. Why would you buy a flash drive with 320GB of space? You might as well as buy a computer. A flash drive is meant to be a portable device and not your primary place of storage. It’s a backup device and also used when you need to bring files with you on the go. I feel 1 and 2GB of space aren’t enough, but 16GB is perfect (for me anyway). Let me just throw in, the red and black design of this flash drive is awesome! Besides, the price New Egg is offering is fair. There’s no sense of buying a flash drive for more than $40 because then it just gets crazy in terms of pricing.
Usually when recommending tech gadgets that I think are useful or worth getting for yourself, it wouldn’t be a flash drive, but in this case with the design, space, and great price…I couldn’t help it and wanted to share. I’m sure most of you already have a flash drive if not more than one, but I think you should still give this one a look. If you own this flash drive, what do you think of it? Do you think any of the flash drives you own are better than this one?
