Most of you are familiar with Web 2.0. You hear all about Web 2.0 this and that, but what about web 3.0? It is coming sooner than you think!
Web 3.0 will make your searches much faster and easier. For example, you type into the search, “I want to eat in an Italian restaurant with good reviews”, and the search will come back with local listings around your area that have good reviews. The things you type into the search are analyzed and then organized so it will give you the most accurate results first.
The more things you search, the more the system will know about you. For example, it will know that I love Italian food, and the browser will use that for future reference. Later, I can type into the search, “I am hungry”, and my favorite Italian restaurants would be listed first in the search.
Right now in Web 2.0, the internet browser is not smart enough to figure out what you are looking for. For example, if I was looking for apple the fruit, and type into the search engine, “apple”, obviously Apple the brand will come up because it has high authority. If I have been searching for a lot of information on apple the fruit lately, information on apples will come up first when I type “apple” into the search engine for Web 3.0.
Many experts believe that Web 3.0 will not use HTML codes, and the beginning stage of Web 3.0 will start some time in early 2010.
How will Web 3.0 effect search engine optimization? According to Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the world wide web, Google’s search engine will not survive in Web 3.0. However, I highly doubt Google will just sit there and do nothing. No one will know exactly what will happen, but the smartest people will always learn to adapt to changes.
