My predictions in regards to the “tablet space” is that we will see some of the same trends that we see from the Android vs. iPhone battle. We will see many Android tablets and only 1 iPad.  However, I believe that Android will rise higher in market share because of the limitations Apple placed on the iPad to provide the experience as a consumption device.  Android will be open and other companies will make many tablets that give features like front facing camera, SD, HDMI, and fully customized systems to provide the ability to create content as well as consume it.

    Good Post.

I just got done reading about the new Amazon Kindle that is said to be coming out sometime in Aug. It is suppose to be a smaller screen and also feature WiFi. But that is only an eReader. I am not a big book reader, but I do like iPad. Mainly because I like my Touch so I like the bigger screen.

I think you are right in thinking its going to be another Apple v Android battle, but if the price is right, I can see more going for the Android. I know I would think about it.

This is a really Good Posts. I didn’t hear about this till I reader your article.

I would def look into this and maybe even think about buying one. I love Android. Yes, the iPad is pretty sick, but the price is a little to high for me. With this price it puts it up against Apple.
But I think it would be the iPod Touch v this device, mainly because of the similar prices.

I believe that either device looks cool from an aesthetics standpoint. However, after using an iPad once before, my point was proven in regards to how boring the device could be. Granted, many people love tablets, but I have never been one of them. There is a lot of use you can get out of them, but there’s nothing about a tablet at this point that really sticks out as useful to me.

You know what’s really funny? The fact that the Kindle is still around and doing pretty well with the iPad being a huge hit. I really thought this was going to be the end of the Kindle, but I guess there are still consumers out there who have a need for the device. I guess it comes down to price. Consumers would rather something cheaper and Amazon offers them that option when Apple’s products are predominantly more expensive. I think it all depends what experience you are looking for.

That is awesome. I hope it is released soon. the IPad is just too much money for me right now and i am with Verizon anyway.

The iPad is pretty expensive right now for something that is nothing more than a large iPod Touch. An Android Tablet would definitely be a nice change of pace in the marketplace, but I’m wondering how it would be received by the public. Trying to compete with Apple can be a difficult feat. How does Verizon play a factor in what type of tablet you would purchase?

Remember the VCR wars? Beta was better than VHS but they restricted access to it, of course this was way before the term “open source” was even coined but that is what it was that let the Sony VHS tape win the war and why there is no more Beta. The same will happen with Ipod and Apple, the only thing now is to see who’s product promotes “open source” the best allowing third party content that will push the consumer to buy, Kindle, Nook, Android or Ipod?
