Did you know it was that time of year again? Every year in September, Apple always has their new technology to show off to consumers. Since we are nearing that time now, the biggest upgrade in Apple products is going to be Snow Leopard. Apple's new OS is sure to be a hit, the only question is...did you pre-order yours yet?

Reasons why you should be getting the new Mac operating system

For anyone out there who are Mac users and huge fans of Apple, you should definitely be getting your hands on a copy of Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It’s set to be released in September and has received quite a bit of recognition so far. I understand there are many people that are PC users, so this may not apply to you. Or maybe it might if you are considering switching over to a Mac.

The biggest reason for Mac users to upgrade to Snow Leopard is because it’s extremely cheap to upgrade!! This is one of the biggest reasons why I am not hesitating to buy it. If you have Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, then the upgrade will only cost $29.00. How can you beat that? I don’t think Windows has ever had a price of that nature for an upgrade. I always hear people complain that Apple’s prices are too expensive, but I think they really made a smart move here. Especially since Windows 7 is being released in October. Oh, and for those that are getting Windows 7…Snow Leopard has improved it’s malware and security protection even more, so enjoy downloading your virus programs PC users!

Secondly, if you are a technology enthusiast like myself, Snow Leopard is expected to be faster with a better look and feel to it’s applications like the Mac finder. The interfaces for the Mac programs such as Safari and iChat are said to have higher resolution and work faster than Leopard. There’s support for exchange servers and now 64 bit users can get in on the action of Mac OS X! If I were to break down what Snow Leopard is all about, it’s speed and power! If you want the full breakdown of every detail in Snow Leopard, I suggest reading Apple’s details.

Finally, you just can’t go wrong with the Mac OS. It’s very stable, reliable, and highly secure. It’s a brand people trust, which is very important especially for me when it comes to technology. I am very eager to use Snow Leopard and seeing the difference in functionality and speed from Leopard. Funny enough, I have only had my Mac for about 2 weeks now and I wouldn’t switch back to Windows for a second. This operating system is just more to my liking and what I want in my “computing experience.”

As I have written this post, I actually pre-ordered my copy of Snow Leopard. I convinced myself it was worth doing now before I forgot! With the way I am with new technology, I can never wait until the latest and greatest thing is out. Technology is all around us and so is Mac OS X Snow Leopard…have you pre-ordered yours yet? If not, pre-order yours today!

If there’s one topic in the world of technology that I am so tired of hearing, it’s OS (Operating System) Wars. So many people always argue which OS is better and my response is, “Which one do you like better?” When they tell me, I say, “Use that one.” It’s so much better off to end a potential OS War with that response because I believe everyone should just use what OS they like best and what works for them.

Granted, we all know Windows Vista failed miserably and was not a fan of the public whatsoever. Although, believe it or not, I know people who use Vista and said it works perfectly fine. This just goes to show you that the operating system you choose to use is based on personal preference. It’s like telling someone who to date…you just don’t do it! A quick point though about Vista not doing well…that’s exactly why Windows 7 is being created and the beta version was released for the public to use! I have used Windows 7 a lot and I love it. I have no complaints yet and it blows Windows Vista out of the park. Once again though, that’s my outlook and also the official version hasn’t been released yet. I do look forward to when it is released.

So, if everyone just used the operating system they preferred and stopped trying to force which one is better down another person’s throat, maybe this topic could be a civil one. Just listen to someone’s opinion, have your own, and keep it at that. Although, I know that won’t happen. Why you ask? The reason is simple…Americans love to argue and push their opinion on to other people. It’s not a great trait at all, which is why when the topic of operating systems comes up in conversations, I notice a lot of people cringe at the thought of it.

Honestly, I still think the Mac OS is the best to use and for Windows at this point since Windows 7 is in beta, I say XP. That’s what I think, but use what makes you happy. Ask yourself this question, “what makes your internet experience an easier and enjoyable one?” After you answer that question, you and your OS will find each other.

Since we are on the topic of operating systems, you might find this interesting:
